Sharpen Your Skills While You Change The World

A Fort Bend & Houston Based Nonprofit / Founded by Students for Students

You work hard; you take the right courses and join the right clubs, all to be well-rounded and look good in the eyes of those who matter. But academics alone doesn’t cut it today: the race more often belongs to the ones who can blend critical life skills with formal training.

Learn these life skills & exercise them in business & social environments
with LiveSmart!

What We Do

Our reason for being

LiveSmart’s primary focus is to teach life skills & coach youth to operate successfully in business & social networks. Members learn through 10 minutes sessions during club meetings, leadership summits, and social / professional engagements with peers & professionals throughout the year.

Part of LiveSmart members responsibilities include speaking with other students, companies, and organizations about the need for youth to learn life skills while still in school. Create critical mass for our efforts by participating & presenting at middle school career days, and speaking engagements by LiveSmart student members at area companies & organizations.

Empower students to gain these skills by creating & nurturing collaborations with area companies, professionals, and organizations to bring mentors, speakers, and resources to bear on our projects. We’ve accomplished some pretty great things this way!

LiveSmart Leadership Summit 2014
LiveSmart Founder’s Talk at TEDxYouth@Houston

“The feedback from companies & countless surveys tell us that today’s graduates are coming up short when it comes to soft skills. Schools are focused on teaching the formal knowledge that we’ll need, and so it comes down to us – the kids – who have to pull this experience from mentors & professionals. And just as importantly, we have to share it with our peers. We live in an interconnected society, and we’ll only succeed if all of us succeed together.
This is what I believe.”

– Samir Rahi, Founder of LiveSmart Initiative, Inc. –

quote The Real Kings and Queens of America

“There is no royal blood in this country. Nothing is reserved for anyone. It’s all just out there, waiting for someone to reach out and take it. And the ones who do, these are the kings and queens of America.”

Far be it for us to endorse a car company, but this latest commercial from Chrysler expresses our go-get-it attitude just perfectly. In the words of LiveSmart’s founder Samir Rahi, “Success can never be presumed: you must work to earn it, and work to keep it”.

quote Indra Nooyi On Positive Intent

“Always assume positive intent.” – advice given to the Chairman & CEO of PepsiCo, Indra Nooyi, from her father.

“Whatever anybody says or does, assume positive intent. You will be amazed at how your whole approach to a person or problem becomes very different. When you assume negative intent, you’re angry. If you take away that anger and assume positive intent, you will be amazed. Your emotional quotient goes up because you are no longer almost random in your response. You don’t get defensive. You don’t scream. You are trying to understand and listen because at your basic core you are saying, “Maybe they are saying something to me that I’m not hearing.”

Excerpt from the Fortune article, “The best advice I ever got“.
